Professional Barista Qualification

Certified course – part of the SCA CDS program

The Professional Barista Qualification contributes 25 points towards the SCA Coffee Diploma System.  It is a three day course, suited to advanced baristas who are looking to further their careers as head baristas, cafe managers or cafe owners.  SCA Barista Intermediate course completion is essential in order to progress onto this course.
For Baristas with advanced skills and detailed knowledge of the science behind processes used, extraction and brewing etc. This is for someone working as a barista for 12 months or more, with some management responsibilities. SCA Barista Intermediate is a prerequisite for this course, and a minimum of three months must have passed before you are eligible to undertake Barista Professional.

Certificate issued by SCA upon passing written and practical exam.

Professional Barista Qualification can only be delivered by an internationally qualified AST (Authorised SCA Trainer)
